Opening hours 2022

Winter 1 hours: from January 3 to April 8, 2022. 

Monday to Friday (except public holidays), from 10am to 12pm and from 2.30pm to 6pm.

Half-season 1 hours: from April 9 to June 30, 2022

every day from 10am to 12pm and from 2.30pm to 6.30pm (including weekends and public holidays)

Summer hours from  July 1 to August 31, 2022

every day from 10am to 7pm without interruption at noon (including weekends and public holidays)

Half-season 2 hours: from September 1 to November 7, 2022

every day from 10am to 12pm and from 2.30pm to 6.30pm (including weekends and public holidays)

Winter 2 hours: from November 8 to December 17, 2022. Closed on November 11, 2022

Monday to Friday (except public holidays), from 10am to 12pm and from 2.30pm to 6pm.

The castle closes its doors during the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays.

Last entry 45 min before closing.

The outdoor route: The Enchanted Gate

To do preferably after the visit of the castle and the ecomuseum, supplement of: 3 € per person (including adults). Provide a good walking shoe. The game is accessible only in case of mild weather.

The Montaigut site is located 19 km from Saint-Affrique. How to get there? it is possible to take the D999 towards Albi. At the exit of Moulin-Neuf take the D12 towards Camarès. At 600 meters turn left on the D101 towards Montlaur and follow the signs to the castle of Montaigut. Bus and camper take care of the narrow bridge at the exit of Montlaur which nevertheless remains passable. The car park is 50m from the castle.

The castle is located at:

2 hours from Toulouse by the N88 and the A68.

1h30 from Montpellier by the A75 the D9-D25 and the N109, by coach (SNCF) or car direction Saint-Affrique. 

1h30 from Rodez by the D911 then D41 by car.

1h15 from Albi take the D999, direction Saint-Affrique and Montlaur
